Rustic Bathroom Cabinets

Project by dennis mitchell posted 995 days ago 6274 views 1 time favorited 22 comments Add to Favorites Watch

Most of you have seen these in my blog, but I figured it was time to make them an official project. Three piece collection including a vanity, window wall, and medicine cabinet using distressed alder, willow twigs, pine logs, and maple carvings. The vanity has a twig magazine holder built into it on the toilet side and on the bath side is two small shelves for shampoos. These are built for my own house. I’ve worked in building cabinets for 12 years and have never got to build based on my own designs. It sure has been nice to do something original.

Not me…I hadn’t seen these in any blog. Makes me want to try something in Alder.
Your work has such nice lines. It is an elegant rustic. I really like the magazine rack!!

Very nice Dennis – that is some beautiful wood. By the way – are you selling your products around here or in the Ketchum/Sun Valley area.?

Way cool Dennis, very clean and visually striking. I really like the fireplace mantle? A closet I guess, but very nice, like the paint job. mike

Hi Dennis;
—-very good ‘wood art’ done in the character and spirit of rustic!!! The bathroom is a for sure fine throne room….

I’m not sure if this has been asked before, but what is the floor done in?

Frank

Excellent Dennis. Now people in your house can go to the potty. I’m sure they, like all of us here, have stopped going, til the bathroom was completed.

Beautiful job.

Thanks everyone!
Larry, The store up north closed down so now It is time to track down a new one. Right now I’m building a kitchen for a house down on the river near Buhl.

Gee Dennis,
You can probably hop into a hot spring for a well deserved soak.

Is that the vanity you’ve been working on? It came out exceptionally well. Your whole bathroom is a work of art.

They look great Dennis, One of a kind treasure.
I suppose your next project will be your kitchen, if you haven’t already done that.

Ya gotta love it, Dennis. When your hobby and “getting back to making some money” is all done in the same place.

People are going to be going into your bathroom and staying in there for very long periods of time and you’re gonna have to knock on the door and ask them “Are you o.k. in there?” and they’re going to tell you “Yeah, I was just checking out your bathroom.”

Dennis:

Shame on you.
If my wife sees this, it will be added to my Honey-Do list.
Then again, I’ve been promising her indoor plumbing for years.

Congrats on your “alder ego.”

Thanks guys. I’ve still got a bathroom door on my honey-past-due list. I’ll have to borrow that “Alder Ego” line.
