Clamps?...check
Shellac?...check.
Frustration with expensive Figured Sapele twisting after resaw on the TS?...check.
Voila…a mallet.
Not sure what I’m going to do with it but surely all wood shops need a homemade mallet, right?

Alexandre – Not as heavy as I thought it would turn out. Less than a pound in my estimation…without actually weighing it.
UPDATE: I used it last night to smash M&Ms in a ziploc bag to sprinkle on vanilla ice cream. I am happy to report that it handled the job very well!
