Thought I’d share some pics of my tool wall and work benches. The pics mostly speak for themselves.
The bench is a pre-fab Craftsman. Bought it off craigslist for peanuts. It was new in the box. The seller bought it in the early 90s, and never got around to assembling it. I enlarged the dog holes, added a maple skirt to the front edge, and installed a quick release vise I got from HF. Its small, but steady and functions well.
The tree stump table thingy is a handy place to perform tasks that are too messy and/or abusive for the work bench.
I’m not sure why I installed the gallows rack. But I did.
Say hello to my feline shop buddy- Mrs. Creamsicle.

Is there some kind of finish on the tree stump table thingy or TSTT? It appears to only have 2 legs? That’s an interesting concept I’m gonna borrow. Gotta have my own TSTT. I also love the old school oil can.
Enjoy the space and keep up the good work.

IT- I based the wall off a 100ish yo picture I saw in a WW book. There was a gallow in the the picture so I was inclined to follow suit. I did think it might be useful for hanging small items to dry or hanging a worklight. However, at this point, I’m pretty sure its just about worthless. LOL. I think it looks cool though and only added about $20 and 2hrs to the project.
Six- IIRC I did slop on a coat of BLO, however I’m pretty sure there are about 31 different “finishes” on the TSTT at this point. LOL. Wood glue, solder, epoxy, valve grinding compound, and parraffin wax included.
It actually does have three legs.

A nice shop set up.
IT – my uncle and a bunch of his freinds had gallow racks positioned over lathes back in the 60’s and 70’s. Now a days, everyone uses engine hoists instead.

Very cool shop – like it a lot. The gallows is unique but might be useful too? For woodworking things I mean….
Now I’m thinking I need a stump…......

More pictures to be added to my “Ideas to be borrowed” file – herein called “Favorites”.
Thanks for the inspiration, especially the gallows and the stump – say, that almost sounds like a title for a book.
