I am new enough to this business ownership thing where I am still finding unusual benefits to having a woodworking business. The first benefit is getting to know so many great people. I have been so amazed by the encouragement and kindnesses shown to me since I’ve started North Country Rustics. Many “Lumberjock-ers” have liked my facebook page and somehow I’ve even been able to give advice to some! I’m shocked too!!!

The Second Benefit is with my Facebook page gathering Fans (practically on it’s own) I’m getting Fans from all over the world. As far away as Austrailia and Europe…and I can’t forget my Canadian neighbors! Today I reached 250 fans and have made several sales because of Facebook. What I like best though…I can get instant feedback on my designs and my doors…and despite constant rumors it is still FREE! Which is exactly what I can afford… LOL

The Third Benefit is “Benefits”. I’ve never been in a financial position to offer much help when friends and relatives hold a Benefit for someone needing a little help. Now, even though I still can’t contribute financially I really enjoy gifting items for the raffles and door prizes. This is the type of “Good Karma” we can all use~LOL. And it just makes me smile.

These items were all created for a benefit… The Bear Mirror received a lot of positive feedback and I’m looking forward to doing more mirrors soon. The Bear Shelf went to a very happy home. The two wall hangings: Double Trouble and Hootie have turned out to be very popular smaller projects for those who want carvings but don’t want a whole door.

Nice items you have there. And I agree with ya on the benefits of just plain old woodworking and its network.

I have to say you do so awesome woodworking. I really love the raccoons also!

I also agree with you on the donating. I have donated alot of my woodturning to help others or just as gifts. The last one I donated to was a couple who wanted to adopt a child and needed extra funds that came up. Now they have their little girl.

FYI, I do not know if you know this, I ‘copy and pasted’ your “www.facebook.com/northcountryrustics” and it took me to your Private FB~~but, then I saw your ‘owner operator’ link and clicked on it…that is how I just found it~

(I just didnt know if you wanted folks to go to your private FB to find your business one~)

Thanks Everyone for the kindnesses!!!

Dust~I’m so glad your enjoying the FB site and I’m really glad to hear the link isn’t going where I thought it was. I will see to that tomorrow! And again, sorry about misspelling your name! I blame too much computer time not enough sawdust time! LOL

My family members misspell my name, I really do not mind when ‘strangers’ do~
Keep up the great work… I look forward to seeing it~

Thanks Dust and TZH! I’ve had a few more likes from other Lumberjocks lately too but it’s SOOOO hard to place people when they have “real” names on Facebook and nicknames on Lumberjocks…especially for a gal who can’t keep names straight to begin with! LOL
