No big story here, just a chunk of burl I got off ebay for 10 bucks. It wasn’t nice enough to slice up into something special so it’s just a shelf. I like French Cleat style to hang things.

May not have been nice enough, but it sure makes a different looking shelf. Nice ingenuity, what’s a French Cleat? your brother in woodworking John

Hi Dooley,

This certainly is an interesting looking shelf. It adds a unique touch to the room’s decor.

Nice idea.

show us a photo of the back.

I’d like to make one of these but, and I’m not sure how you did it.

it’s the french cleat style for hanging cabinets, but I’ve used it to hang a ton of things. Hope this picture helps you see how it’s constructed,

A very unique corner shelf. I think the fooo fooo designers would love it too! What type of burl is it? Do you have additional hardware to anchor the shelf into the cleat? Or does the weight & angle of it keep it solid?

That’s beautiful!
