This is not my project, but my sons and I helped Dad with it and I just had to share it with you. It’s just an old country flat bottom fishing boat that Dad used to help his uncle make when he was a kid. He has been wanting to make one for years. He cut down the pine tree himself, had the sawmill slice it up for him, bent the side boards. The bottom is toungue and groove. The last picture was the maiden voyage with My niece, my son, my Dad, and me. The lake is Nottely lake in Blairsville GA. You can see the results from the drought we had last year. I used some of the leftover sideboard to make my first project, a foot stool.

Fine project and great memories for the family. We had a boat like that when I was a kid. Just one question – where are the oars?

That’s really cool, Bill!
I hope you guys got some water back in the lake, or else you might have to add some wheels to that boat.

really cool…one thing to consider on your next trip—-BALANCE THE WEIGHT IN THE BOAT…actually—-maybe the way you had the seating is a testament to the great construction…
I know nothing of boat building…but one day I want to build a little boat that I can stick a motor on and toot up and down the NAPA river…
