My wife was getting sick of the pile of games in the living room and I was getting tired of the electronics just a muddled pile on the floor under the TV, so I put this entertainment center cabinet together.
My 3 and 5 year old kids helped drill all the pocket holes for assembling the cabinet carcass (maple plywood). Then I put together a maple face frame and attached that. The doors are maple plywood centers with black walnut frames.
The top is made from some left-over cork laminate flooring and trimmed in black walnut and floats over the main cabinet using 3/4” black walnut spacers.
The hinges are satin/brushed nickel.
The back is 100% open since there is a cold air return behind the cabinet and to allow ease of wiring.
