We have a small kitchen in our basement that was put in when the basement was made into finished space many years ago. The cabinets were dark stained plain face birch cabinets with 3/8” offset doors. We decided to remodel and update, but we didn’t want to go to the expense of installing new cabinets. I reworked the existing doors by cutting off the existing rabbet and adding maple edging to make the doors into recessed panel style doors. I also added new flat trim to the ends of the cabinets. Then I sanded and spray painted the existing cabinet cases and the doors. We re-used the old offset door hinges, added new hardware, granite countertop and a new sink. A new tile floor and backsplash finished it off.

That’s handy to have in a basement. Looks very nice

Excellent work! Good enough to move it all upstairs.
