This is the workbench that I’m making for a wedding present. This one isn’t as thick (about 1.25”) and the strips are about 1.66”. It’s slightly over 7’ long.

Okay, I’m almost finished now. The 5 pictures are:
1. The bench top.
2. Pieces I use to lift the bench off the ground. The 2” x 6” is hard to make out but it has two cams drawn out on it for cutting at the band saw. A finished piece is to the right with two cams and a step bar. Below are the two sets for the wheels.
3. Everything is mounted and in the rolling position (when right side up).
4. This is in the solid position (non-moving), notice the position of the wheel setup compared to the clamp.
5. As you can see, there are 3 sections that can have drawers added to this base.

Very nice bench. Great gift.
I especially like the bench lifts, very clean design. I will probably ‘lift’ the design….

Pretty straight forward. The cams are basically, 4” x 9” with the “stem” being 1.25”. The only thing is to offset the hole by 3/4” for the lift.

Funny story with this. The couple had just moved into their house when we delivered it and we set it in the garage. His mother came over, saw the bench and gave him hell for leaving their nice table in the garage to be ruined.

That will make someone a nice gift if they are a woodworker without a bench. Nice work.
