I am so sorry that the pictures can not show the soul of the carving.Yes he is smiling, but in changing the light his expression changes in severity or sadness.For me the most important is my job to have a soul, right it is a emanation of my soul!

That is amazing! I’m sure it will be admired for years. The finish is smooth and not fuzzy like some carvings. Well done.

Mariya, all of your carvings are so very beautiful, this one included. I like the live edge /bark that you have left on the box wood. You are a very talented artist. I’m looking forward to your blog. I would love to learn how to carve and see how you do it.
