This is another live edge walnut box, this time with box elder. roughly 4×8x4. I don’t measure much, it tends to get in the way for me. The holes in the wood are from a borer beetle that had its way with the tree.
As a side note I turned a large bowl from this same tree, and when I was applying the first coats of lacquer, hundreds of little black beetles came crawling out. Guess they didn’t like the fumes. Kind of made me wonder how much of the moisture on my face guard was really just bug guts.

Big Ogre,
You are really cranking out the work and the postings. I like the free and expressive feel of your latest boxes. It is nice to be able to see several views so we can get a real feel for your work. Including sizes helps give me perspective about what I am seeing. Thanks for all of that. The bottom swosh is a nice touch. Are you selling your work now? Thanks for sharing your work with us and taking us along on your creative journey.

Very good looking box…! I likes the live edge.
Maybe you are on to something for getting ris of the bugs…spray lacquer. Many forums have discussed the borer bugs.
Personally, I live the smell of freshly sprayed lacquer

Try a soaking with CA glue …..
that way, the bugs become ONE with your project and will not crawl out..
