This is a Murphy bed that I just completed in a King size. This is not something that I normally offer because it is not be perfectly counterbalanced. I tested one and it weighed about 25 lbs. to closed. This is the third king size that I’ve built but the first in the Hudson Bay style. I’ve even made a California King. To make it even larger the customer requested two 24” bookcases. This made it 128” wide, 132 ½” if you count the crown.
This was built from maple wood with just a clear coat for the finish. On this project I started using full extension rails on my bookcases. This was because the depth of the cabinets is only 11 7/8” and once I grooved out for the ¼” back, that only leaves 11 5/8” for drawer runners. The smallest Epoxy Coated Rails I could find was 12“. I was having to cut out the backs for the rails to clear. With the full extension I was able to use 10” and get even more travel on the drawer.
Modifications to give the king as much leverage was to add an extra board to the head section on the frame so that the mounting plate could be moved back as far as possible.
Here are some other kings the I built

Chris,
This is a nice piece of furniture. I can appreciate the problem with trying to counterbalance the bed.
Nice job. Thanks for the post.

I really like the slide out nightstand “tray”, and the puck lights. I’m thinking about something like this myself for a little used room.
