My 3rd project.

My friend asked me to build some outdoor chairs for him. I ran across some really cool chairs online, but no plans were available. These are my attempt to copy their design.

They are made from cypress and have an tung oil finish. The will be out in the rain all the time, so I used tightbond III glue as well. I’m interested to see how the chairs weather. Hopefully they will last a long time, as long as my friend refreshes the tung oil every couple of years or so.

I got a little carried away with my vanity on this. We have an Epilog mini 18 laser engraver at work, so I designed and engraved a little “Made by” plack to put on the back spanner of the chairs. It turned out pretty cool looking.

These are nice projects and Adirondack chairs are so popular that you probably will be asked to do more of them. Nice choice of wood and finish as well.

Good job.

Great job on the chairs. I like the design of the back slats.
