A co-worker showed me a website of an indoor toilet. He asked if I could make him one for his cabin. I forgot the website were the idea came from. Anyway, it’s pretty straight forward, I used red oak and finished it with some BLO and G-F Arm-R-Seal.
I guess you put peat moss or sawdust in the bucket so it doesn’t smell. Hmm…I will stick with indoor plumbing.

Great build, but I’ll have to take your word on the peat moss or sawdust thing LOL ….Well done.

It’s called the “Lovable Loo ”...lol. I’m into conservation on many levels and my shop is in the walk-in basement; our only bathroom is two flights up, so yes, I know this item ! One point though; if you adjust the supports the seat rests on to a sideways position the seat can be made to rest on the bucket edge, leaving less of a gap for odors. There’s few nice sites devoted to composting toilets.
A cute variation on the theme is to make the box look like a normal commode except the “water tank ” on top/behind holds sawdust and a scoop. If you look around you’ll find this loo is a marketable woodworking project; as are outhouses; go figure…LOL.
That’s a nice job you did on it !
