A few turnings and a box

For whatever reason I really enjoy using my lathe, especially with local wood that I cull from trees but I also have used the “exotic” type you can purchase which do come out very nice. Here are a few images of my first attempts, I would like to post some of the other items but I never bothered to take pictures.

The first is simple red oak music box that I made for my wife. The second music box is made from purple heart scraps I pulled out of a junk pile.

The bottle stoppers are just experiments in turning and the coffee scoop is well… a coffee scoop. :>)
