The closet is done and the wife is happy . I should have made a larger shoe rack …she still has more shoes to put up .

I decided to stain the closet the same color as the bed and sprayed 4 coats of poly .
Looking at this picture im wishing i would have stained the built in wall cases .

Jimboe, if you are serious about staining the built in, then you could buy some 4” wide iron-on edging, sand down the built-in, iron on the edging (at least the frame ) stain it, then spray your finish. Then you would have a matching ensemble.

Jimboe,

This is a nice looking closet organizer. And it provided some much need storage. I don’t know how to break it to you but, if you haven’t guessed by now, you can never build enough storage to handle your wife’s shoes. My wife has a closet full of shoes, some of which I am sure she has never worn, but she cannot go past a shoe store “just to see if they have anything new”.

Thanks for the post.

Nice closet. But there is no such thing as enough room for a woman’s shoes.

What a great functional piece. Nice job.
