Hey Jocks here we have another carved beveled box, made from Curly Black Cherry and Curly Maple. Finish off with Danish Natural Oil and a French Polish. The lining is a velvet cloth glued on a piece of soft cushion form board which gives a nice soft cushion for stored items. Hope all is well in the woodworking world take care your friend in woodworking ….Blkcherry

Wow! This is excellent Wilson. The sculpting is well done and very eye appealing. The wood tones are great and where you opted to place each species makes for nice symmetry. Kudos.

spectacular Wilson!

construction, ratios, and lumber selection all work real well together, and has a real nice harmonic look and feel to it.

I really like your choice of the two woods for contrast – just right! Curly maple is one of my favorite wood to work with, next to quilted maple. Have you found that they are getting harder and harder to find?

Wilson, this is an excellent build. I like the title and how well it goes with the design. It does look like a windswept dune, or sea, or lake. The wood combo is beautiful and will look even better as the cherry takes on a deeper hue with time. Thanks for the close-up of the lift, it is a beauty…the taper is a great touch. The corner splines will give it strength and the attached bottom unifies the design elements. My only quibble is with the utilitarian aspect. The last picture is a bit fuzzy on my computer, but there seems to be very little room to put stuff inside the box. However, as an art piece it is absolutely spectacular.

This is one of the good ones. The cherry and maple go so well together and the subtle sculpting fits this box just right.

That is a great looking box. I like the sculpting you have done along the top, quite subtle like gentle waves or wind swept sand, just as you have named the box.
