Our daughter turned 5 last week and she had been praying for a doll house since Christmas. Little did she know her mommy had scribbled out a rough idea of a Barbie-sized doll house that would be able to be taken apart and stored. So daddy sprang into action and turned the quick sketch into a real plan and started making saw dust. While daddy was working with power tools, mommy was making furiniture, painting and “wallpapering” the new house. It was a huge hit. Plus it gave me a chance to try out some new tools and some joining techniques that were new to me.
The floors and walls are 1/4” luan plywood and the rest is clear pine with the exception of the uprights on the walls, those are poplar because the local big box didn’t have any clear pine worth buying when I went in to buy them. Everything was twisted or bent…

Alexandre – we have a Home Depot about .5 mile from me and a Lowes about 3 miles from me and there is a Menard’s that I drive by on my way home from work, but in this case I was stuck at Lowe’s because of convenience.
