Getting in the Game

Something very simple but will make a little girl very happy. We started teaching my young daughter how to play card games last night and started with Go Fish. She of course had some issues holding all of her cards and keeping them organized. So I fashioned this last night and this morning.
I actually cut the CD with my chop saw then glued together with a piece of foam in between, the base was made with a scrap of alder. I was able to iron on the decorations. I used soy varnish to seal it all up. Should be dry enough for her to look at by the time rest time is over. :)

That’s a GREAT idea! Somthing so simple yet so useful. I like it! Is that the 1 or 2mm soft foam sold at Michaels and other craft stores? It would be nice to see the side view. Very cool “tool”!

Greg, I tried to take a side view pic and it really does not work very well. It is a 2mm foam sheet and I used spray adhesive to attach it to the back disk. After giving that time to dry I actually used Liquid Nail to attach the front disk just spreading it around the hole at the bottom so the entire fan can be used. I added some weight to it and let it dry overnight.

She just woke up and is quite happy with it and wants to play a game this evening.

Neat idea. It’s hard to believe all the idea’s that comes from members of LJ. Know your daughter will be happy.
