I came across this project a year ago while looking through Wood Magazines online plans.
My wife and I decided this is just what we need.
The material is Red Oak w/waterbased walnut stain and a waterbased satin finish. The cushion rungs are held in place with brass screws that no one will ever see but I know they are there.
This was my first through tenon project as well as the first time I used my new mortiser. I do see plenty of room for improvement but I am very happy with the results.
In looking for an Upholsterer I came across a man a couple of blocks from my house who works out of his garage.
Bon Upholstery. He did a stellar job on the cushions at a price that can’t be beat.
This was also the first time a used my Grizzly tenoning jig.
Both the mortiser and the tenoning jig were money well spent.
Thanks for looking…
