I was commissioned to make this Pet Memorial Box for a client.

It is Black Walnut finished with teak oil. I started with rough cut 4/4 and planed it down to 15mm.

The dimensions of the box (w/o the base or lid) are 9”w x 5.5”d x 4.5”h. The top section of the box is 1.5” deep and will hold mementos (photos, collar, etc.). The bottom section of the box is 2.5” deep and will hold ashes. The bottom is secured with screws so that it can be easily removed.

The picture frame on the front is made so that 4” x 6” photos can be dropped down into it via a narrow slot at the top. The frame is as thin as my planner could make it, minus a little sanding (about 4mm).

Decorative iron hinges and nails complete the project.

Great work; I’m sure the client will appreciate the craftsmanship and feeling you put into it. Poor little guy; may he Rest In Peace.

A nice way to pay tribute to a 4-legged member of the family. I like the extra space for the collar and such. Very nice
