Made this from plans purchased from Rockler under “steamer chest”. Fairly easy build using their plans although I did make a few modifications along the way.
It’s made from white oak and walnut. The finish was a little more “orangy” for my liking (if that’s a word) but the recipient seemed to be very pleased.

Fine work, and I’m sure that the recipient will be honored to receive such a thoughtful gift. Thanks for posting

It looks great, do you happen to have the website you got the plans from? I know you made mods, but I can’t find anything like it at Meisel Hobby, or that doghouse site you listed previously is gone. Thanks.

Really nice chest. It will make a fine place for the recipient to place all his memories of their service.
