I’ve been doing a major shop refit, and one thing I wanted to do was to have a dedicated station for my miter saw. Years ago I started building a shortened version of American Woodworking’s Ultimate Toolstand… but never got past just the top of the stand. I kept that kicking around for the past few years, and this past week, I finally got it mounted to the wall of my shop using some stout hinges I had on hand.
The chop saw is removable (though it does take a drill/driver to do so) and I can drop the entire assembly down to hang close to the wall, just by folding the two legs inward.
The slots in the top allow f-clamps to secure workpieces for clamping, and the top is flush with the miter saw platform, giving decent workpiece support.
It is also will serve as an outfeed table for my tablesaw (for shorter pieces of course)

Nice job. A multitasking shop helper, shop organization & efficiency is important, it goes a long way to improving and making shoptime more enjoyable.
I haven’t seen the slots for f-clamps before. Another idea to store in this crowded (& undersized) brain of mine! Thanks for sharing this.

Randy, Look around for the Ultimate Toolstand plans, that’s where I got the idea.
