This is a little away from my norm, but was still a lot of fun to build. It’s made from white oak and will be holding a Air Force Saber. I built this from a lot of research since it was commissioned as a gift and I did not have access to the sword or measurements of the sword. I hope it fits.
Thanks for taking a look.
Joey

Out of the norm maybe. Out of capabilities, not at all. Your workmanship is perfect.

Real nice workmanship, looks like there would be enough room for the Sabre.

Very nice display case. That’s going to be one very happy customer and saber owner! Great work, as always. Oh, I left a comment for Bella and her boxes. Sorry for the lateness!

nice shadow box….I had the sword measurements for the one I built, but really would have liked to have had the sword to make sure it was centered in the box….I was sent pictures of it, with the sword placed in it and it turned out just fine…

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I am hoping I get a picture once the sword is placed in it. I am going to ask for one anyway.
@Jaykaypur, I used my old standby, Polycrylic. I used 3 coats of satin and a final coat of gloss. I didn’t like the real dull look it has on oak. It makes it look almost plastic like. So I did the final coat with gloss and like the way it turned out. Not to dull, not to glossy.
@woodpezzer, thank you, Bella is at her grandparents for the week so she will not be able to respond to your comment, but I will forward her the email. I am sure it will mean a lot.
To everyone else, Thank you as always. Your comments always mean so much to me. Stay tuned, I will have some more boxes up in the next few days. (I hope)
Have a great evening.

This is another work of art! I have already seen so many art works with such grace. I should develop my woodworking skills. I think I better practice so I can post one too!
