This table is almost all veneer, except for the edge around the top. The legs were made of mahogany veneer over 1/8” MDF, over 3/8” bending ply. I made 2 opposing sides for each leg. The 2 sides were glued to end pieces, which were also veneered to make the legs look like they’re solid wood all the way around. See more of my work at alancarterstudio.com.

That is really sharp. What’s the top veneer? Is that mahogany too? It sort of looks like lacewood but I’ve seen some mahogany almost that nice too.
Just curouis but this is the 2nd project post I’ve seen this week for a console table. I’ve probnably been under a rock but hadn’t heard that term before. What makes it a console table? Something in the design, or something related to a function?
