This is a great project, I love to build. The challenge for this project was that it had to come apart and be able to fit in medium sized car and it had be cost effective. I have build three so far and ever time I build them I learn a better way to build this project, this has also to do with the fact that I get better tools and more experience every time I build them, considering I started out with nothing more and a jigsaw, a handsaw, and a grinder. I have since moved up a little from the stone knives and bear skins, and am now using better tools. I have also found out that carbon paper is my friend, it helps me in getting a perfect copy of my design on all of my pieces. This project is build out doug fir 2 by material, that makes the project affordable for my clients. I would like to build this set in oak, but I will have to find a source of oak in my area that doesn’t cost an arm, a leg, and then some and meets all of the requirements for this project. Who knows right?

Cool projects. You really have to use different approach when it has to be taken down and re assembled.
You did good!!.............Jim

thanks Jim, this was very interesting since my prototype had a wobble problem I was a little concerned, but it was a problem I was able to fix when I made these for my customers. Most people would have put pen in the middle bar, but those things get lost, so I had to be very creative to be able to put these guys together
Have your say...
