This was a project I did about 5 years ago and these are the chairs today! These are made completely out of pine (un-treated) 2×4’s and 1×6’s for the seat and back. I’ve re-stained them a few times and they have held up amazingly well! They get moved about the yard and deck regularly. I modified the plans for these a bit and extended the legs for 12 tall stools and made 3 large tables to match, ( I used 4×4’s and 2×6’s for the tables), which I use on my deck at my business. I plan on making a table and 4 chair set for the deck in the next couple weeks.

Yeah… that’s what I’m talking about! Rustic—-not crude. Miss Honey Ma’am and I LOVE rustic!

Thanks…they are pretty rugged! I may modify them a bit more the next time around and I may varnish them as well. I’ve thought of using 1×3 instead of the 1×6 for the backing and seat and space them out. Not sure yet. May add a cup/mug/pint holder too!

definitely doesn’t look like a standard 2x and 1x stock
