‘Lean’ coffee table is made from steel tube and flat stock, redwood, and mahogany strip inserts and tenon pins. The redwood is worked 5/8” siding material. It is a good selection for natural beauty and workability, but leaves durability to be desired. I imagine this table will get its share of knocks and nicks, so I did it the service of pounding a few dings in to get the process started. The welded steel legs are finished with clear satin lacquer and wax. The redwood is finished with General Finishes oil based urethane (a flexible finish) and homemade furniture wax. This table was probably a 6 weekender, but it is difficult to remember because I made the legs a couple of years back with the intention of eventually using them for a coffee table. Thanks for looking.
