All this time I was raised to believe that the Cross was a symbol of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us , not a symbol of death.

woodnutbutter, the cross is a symbol of life you see because Jesus did die on the cross but He rose again. Jesus took all of our sins upon Him who knew no sin. So all of our sins are hung on the cross with Jesus thus, the cross being a symbol of our redemption. Before you go around being a “wisenimer” you should get your facts straight. I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the jew first, and also to the greek. Romans 1:16. She says it disturbs her. It only disturbs those who know the consequence of not accepting what was done on it.
