This was my first (successful) attempt at finger joints. I think it turned out pretty well, i made the joints stick out a little bit for extra affect. This is completely made out of pallet wood scrounged up from work. I had fun just pulling this one together. I think the cherry and pine go well together accenting the walnut nicely. The lid handle is made from maple with a walnut accent button in the middle. The bottom is held together with maple pieces and has little maple feet as well.
I put a few coats of boiled linseed oil on the box and then put a few coats of clear shellac on over that.
The box is currently for sale on my Etsy Shop. Thanks for looking and God bless!

Looks pretty nice from what I can see. Might check out Greg the box sculptors home page and blogs. He has posted some info on how he takes pictures which is half the battle. LOL! The other place I’d suggest is Charles Neil’s home page, which has a lot of great info. He is a finisher first. And he can tell you in many ways what works.
Like your projects! Finger joints look great. dovetails next? LOL!
If I were to start again and I wasn’t in a hurry. LOL! I’d by only the best hand tools or machine tools even if they are used. You will only have to buy more. :-)
Looking forwAad TO ENJOYING YOUR jOURNEY!
