Made out of cherry and the last of my purple heart. Although I really like the exotic woods, I am a poor boy and will stick with what I find on the ground for the most part. LOL
The “unfinished” pic is of all the pieces before the glue-up. It measures 14’’ x 5’’ x 1/2’’ and is finished with cutting board oil and shined up a bit! My sister informed me that this is what would be called a paring board—-a light-duty cutting board for prep work.
As always, thanks for the comments and looks.

Nice looking board. Wish all that stuff grew locally.

Roger——————at my shop, in my opinion, any HARD wood that will glue-up to another HARD wood is good to use for a cutting board. I am sure there are purists out there that will differ but I aint one of them. I’m just a poor boy trying to ‘git ‘er done. I may not know what I’m doing or doing it the right way BUT, by God, I do it 110%.

Jay: you an eye to put together whatever is at hand and make it work. I have used a lot of exotic woods in my projects and have been feeling the price jump in these imported woods. I was told the exotic woods are purchased in Euro’s and back to dollars once it is sold to local sellers which increases the price. Good looking CB.
