Project Information

Made out of cherry and the last of my purple heart. Although I really like the exotic woods, I am a poor boy and will stick with what I find on the ground for the most part. LOL

The "unfinished" pic is of all the pieces before the glue-up. It measures 14'' x 5'' x 1/2'' and is finished with cutting board oil and shined up a bit! My sister informed me that this is what would be called a paring board--a light-duty cutting board for prep work.

As always, thanks for the comments and looks.

Roger------at my shop, in my opinion, any HARD wood that will glue-up to another HARD wood is good to use for a cutting board. I am sure there are purists out there that will differ but I aint one of them. I'm just a poor boy trying to 'git 'er done. I may not know what I'm doing or doing it the right way BUT, by God, I do it 110%.

Jay: you an eye to put together whatever is at hand and make it work. I have used a lot of exotic woods in my projects and have been feeling the price jump in these imported woods. I was told the exotic woods are purchased in Euro's and back to dollars once it is sold to local sellers which increases the price. Good looking CB.
