This was chain-sawed off of the cherry log its setting on this morning and it is a cutting board! Ater some serious precision bandsawing, sanding, planing, and more sanding….it turned out pretty good. It measures 12’’ x 9’’ x 1’’. I left the bottom roughed up to represent the condition the wood was in when I started. Just sanded it enough to get it level. The edges are all 45’d half-way up from the bottom for ease in handling. I used Howard’s cutting board oil on it and please, please note the sterile conditions in which I apply my finishes! LOL This is a present for the guy who gave me the 2 cherry pieces. Folks, I am still learning as I go and still have a long way to go! Thanks for the looks and comments.

Nice board Jay. Nice hunk of Cherry!
Hey I initially used Howard’s for my boards but then found the same oil at my local drug store. Twice the amount for less than half the money. It is simply Food grade mineral oil. Not knocking Howards. Just saying.
