This is my Settlers of Catan (a registered trademark. I am not affiliated) board. I’ve spent a year designing it and now have started selling it, after a Kickstarter campaign.

I had never done any woodworking before this, so I’m still learning.

The pictured board was finished by a couple coats of spray-on polyurethane. But recently I’ve been taking them down to a wood shop in Sunnyvale to have a lacquer coat applied.

What kind of woodworking is this? Is it wood carving, wood burning, I don’t know. It looks awesome.

It’s laser-cut and etched. There’s more backstory at my blog: http://boardcrafting.com

Very cool. Any plans for Seafarers, or Cities and knights (my favorite)?

I saw this back when it was on kickstarter, and was really impressed by the artistry involved. I’m glad you got the backers for the project, because it looks great!

Amazing job!
I’ve been thinking of a more sturdy version of the Catan Board for a while now. I dont think mine will be near this detailed but the game demands something more stable than the thin cardboard tiles it comes with.
Thanks for sharing.
