A friend of mine was the coach of a high school golf team. At the end of the season he wanted to present them with a “trophy” as appreciation for their support and effort.
The Waterford Crystal Vase is beautiful by itself, but we felt this stand would provide a proper presentation.
Walnut with but joints reinforced with exposed brass pins (not shown). Base was made in two pieces. I needed to be done in a day and was too chicken to try and route what was to be the square pocket. Resaw and a little scroll saw work seemed just a bunch safer.
While most woodies see the line, regular folks see the vase.
