This is the first one of these that I have made. I am “working” my way up to a cutting board! LOL

This board measures 12’’ x 7’’ x 1/2’’ and is made of apple on the outsides, cherry, purple heart, and sycamore in the very center. The board is as smooth as smooth can be. Very nice to the touch. I finished it with 3 applications of Howard’s cutting board oil and buffed real good.

I can see these becoming very addictive for me. Thanks for the looks and comments.

Purple heart? Going exotic? Lol. Looks good.

Really nice symmetry in the design as well as nice woods used. Great stuff Jay, keep on with the creativity! Your works are always a real joy to see and keep the spirit of woodwork for me alive and well. Have a great 4th!

A very nice board. I only have one question. Wouldn’t Sycamore be too porous for a carving board? Just wonderin. Thnx in advance

cutting boards are lots of fun, and people love them as gifts! I recently made a couple with “juice grooves” which are fun too.
