This is a Chest I made for my nephew for a graduation present. He is a hands on guy and I wanted it to have the look of a Craftsman Tool Chest. The frame is pine painted red with Diamond Plate Panels and I mounted the chest on wheels to make it easy to roll around. The lid has a Diamond Plate insert set into it. I lined the inside with 1/4” Aromatic Cedar sheets and installed a tray with a Diamond Plate insert. It also has a 4” false bottom accessed from a poke hole from underneath. Has Black Faux Dovetails in the corners. Built it about 5 years ago just now posting. He loved it!

Nice take on the chest design. I haven’t seen cedar in sheets like that. Good use of the diamond plate.

Thanks! First time I have used this aromatic sheet myself. Less expensive than my usual Aromatic T&G planks I use.

Dovetails meet diamond plate. 18th century meet 21st century. Cool chest. That would make a heck of a tool chest.
