We bought a painting a while ago to go above our sofa. It needed a frame…and now it has one.

Great job on the frame, what kind of wood did you use. I have been commissioned to build a frame for a painting of similar size and I am trying to figure out what wood would be the best and how to finish it.

@Bobmedic: it’s from Home Depot. The label was “select whitewood.” Based on how it smelled during cutting, I’m saying it’s pine. It was 1x material that I doubled up to get the thickness I needed.

Really nice painting enclosed by a very fine frame.
