In learning the art of woodworking, I have always strived to make the current project nicer than the last. Well, I was cleaning up in and around the ol wood shop when I noticed a various motley crew of wood pieces in a pile. I picked up a piece and thought “how ugly is that!” Then I remembered that the most knurled up piece of wood is the prettiest projects. I picked up the pieces and slapped them together in the most out of whack, crooked and weirdest way I knew how. I tried to make it as a far to the opposite end of the spectrum from what I am use to doing.
This is what I came up with.
I call it
“THE UGLY”

looks like you succeeded in a big way

you may have talents you never dreamed of

find a gallery (that will show it)

dress and talk funny

you just might be ‘discovered’

It speaks to me.
It speaks of the darkest hour before the dawn and the coming of the new day as the sun triumphantly rises on it’s pre-described arc while mere mortals peer upon it’s glory through the squinted eyes of ignorance and longing!
Thanks for sharing (I think! :-)
Well done!

Success. It does have a primordial look about it.

If put in a art show with the right name like” strife ” or “the new world” it would bring $ 50.000 but only about $5.00 with out the “yellawood” tag :)
You’ve started a new art form ,in hot rod cars they have “rat rods” that are not finished on the outside at all, why not
“rat art” ?

Patron, some people think I already dress (camo shorts & tie dye t-shirt) and talk (cajun country) funny.

You copied my last effort … but I tossed it since it made my wife a little ill (humor intended)!

If we truly now have the UGLY and the site is filled with GOOD, all we need is the BAD!

Any candidates? We could have a new category of projects!

Cozmo,

This is what I would imagine to find as the last item, if you were to search every site on the World Wide Web. ;-)

And it would be titled “Procastination Be Damned”.

...but seriously Cozmo, now that you have used the last pieces of wood in your stash, go forth, with a clear conscience, and seek out the nearest lumber yard.
