This is my latest bookmark. These are much like cutting boards, you make one and suddenly you have an idea of how you can use your odds and bobs that are lying around the shop, to make another, then another, then…
They’re easy to make, don’t use a lot of lumber and people fall all over themselves to get one when you have another batch done.
This one is made of Pau Amarillo, Padauk, Maple, Shedua, Bloodwood, Walnut, Cherry and something dark that has been in the offcut bin for a loooong time.

Looks like a great project to do a blog “how to” about.

I like the design. I’m agree with Paul….I like to see a “how to”. What’s the thickness?

I also agree with every here, and I would like to know the size and thickness of the wood, It would seem to be very thin to do glue ups with. It sure looks nice

I cut the log that I make up a little under 1/8 in thickness. The bookmark is less than that after scrapping the saw marks off and a little sanding.

I like the design a lot. I guess once you have a blank glued up, you can cut out a lot of identical bookmarks at once, too.
Have your say...
