Built these for 2 reasons. A place to store more pens and other objects and to possibly set up at a flea market later this year. They are about 16” x 18” and each can display about 30 pens. I guess now I have to make some more pens. ;-)

Very nice, would you be willing to share the plans? I was looking to make a display case myself.

Ray. There are no plans. I sized them based on a rough piece of lumber I wanted to use.
I can take some exact measurements if that would help. The corners are 3/8” box joints. The bottom section is about 2.5” and the top about 1.25” in height. All the side pieces are planed to about 1/2” thick. I cut all the side pieces from the rough and then resawed them to about 5/8” and planed them to 1/2”. This also gave me pieces about 3/8” thick that I planed and grooved to make the inserts, which were then covered with felt. The plexiglass is the cheap stuff from the blue box store and is set in a rabbet along the top and capped with some extra wood, mahogany on one and maple on the other. The bottom section has a 3/16” melamine set in a groove about 1/4” from the bottom.
