Civil War twist pen in a Wax finish with a 58 caliber minie ball cap a 44 caliber 1860 Colt Army revolver bullet tip and an 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket clip.
The wood is Sycamore that came from the Twin Sycamore property on the corner of Baltimore and Lafevere street in Gettysburg, PA this tree was cut down due to illness in 2008 and was witness to all three days of battle and the Lincoln procession enroute to give his Gettysburg address. You can search online to see pictures from 1863 on the day lincoln passed by very grainy pics but very cool.

That is super cool…great job paying tribute to wood that has seen such an important part of our nations history.

These pen kits are very kool. You’ve done a gr8 service and tribute to that tree and the making of these fine writing tools. The Civil War, Abe Lincoln, etc., and the link with the history lesson, well, just awesome. Thnx very much for a little history lesson, and this stroll back in time. I’ve been to Lincoln’s Tomb in Springfield, IL., and to Gettysburg, PA, and here in Kentucky, we have this link: It is another very solemn, and “eerie” place. Everyone should visit these battlefields, and just sit down, breath the air, and think of a time/s when there was so much bloodshed, and be thankful for all of our soldiers, military, etc. Thnx again. I got on quite a ramble
