Project Information

Since everyone is admiring my "chests" as one LJ put it. Here is another one I made back in 2001. All solid pine, 20×32x20. My wife did the stamping to go with the northwest them of the bedroom. There is also a matching dresser (forest green & natural pine combo) and a student desk to go along with this bedroom set. Still have yet to make the nightstand to finish off the set.

This is a nice piece. The figures add a nice touch to the piece and are complimented well in the other furniture pieces.

Thanks for the post.

Nice chest, you and your wife make a good team. I like the raised panels, gives a regular pine chest a lot of class. mike

I really like the chest. I think it's great. Like the stamping too. But I couldn't help notice the other piece in the corner. Is that a dresser or a night stand? I had a dresser very similar that my uncle made like 50 years ago. I painted it the same way, a few years back after it had been thru some ruff times. I guess it was originally a dresser, then a tool chest, work bench, then it came out to the cabin and was a tool chest again. After I moved it into our closed in porch I painted it like yours. Couldnt get the stains out of the top for nothing, so I had to paint the top too. It has been thru one two many floods after the 08 flood and we finally had to burn it. I'm hoping to make another one someday just like it. On my list of things to do. I saw that and it brought back memories. Sorry, and this was posted how long ago?

thanks for the comments. That piece in the background is actually a writing desk that I made to match. It was where my wife did bills and wrote letters. That was 3 houses ago. Now it is in the guest bedroom in the basement as a side table, but still functioning.
