So this is where the name “pallirondack” comes from. I made my first Adirondack-style chair—and everything else I’ve made so far—from 100% recycled pallets. I found a design/plan online (thank you California Redwood Association) and modified it to work with wood from pallets instead of cedar boards available at your nearest lumber yard or big Orange or Blue box store (does Menards have a ‘color’?).
I have made another single chair since for my wife, but had to lower it slightly so that her feet would touch the floor. I created an Etsy site using a clever name (wink) and while I have had a lot of traffic, no sales. I’m guessing because of the “only local – no shipping” note I included.
That being said…........anyone have experience shipping finished furniture? Costly? Best prices? Assembled or in pieces? Can you tell I’m new at this?
Next up…..the headboard for my wife…errr…client…..or the Pallirondack Skull chair that my buddies at work want me to build. Should be interesting…...

I like the chair a lot. I am working with some of the more traditional wood (contstruction lumber) for my first attemp at a chair.
I did create a pallet headboard to match a basic bed frame we have. You can see the project here: http://lumberjocks.com/projects/79490
Did you ever build the headboard you mentioned?

Nope, I haven’t started it yet. We ended up moving, so I am getting my “shop” reorganized and other priorities have bumped that headboard down on the list….for now. Great looking headboard.
