I just got one of those 2” grinders with the chainsaw disk. This is what I ended up with. It’s just a bowl of some kind. No real purpose in mind. My neighbors say it looks like an ash tray.
This is Mora wood. I am pretty sure this is the hardest wood I’ve worked with. It was a real chore to sand. It is finished with Danish oil and wax. I kind of regret using wax because in the right light you can see the pasty white color of it in the porous parts of the grain. But, oh well. It is what it is.

You did a great job on this. I am getting ready to tackle a chunk of cherry wood in about the same way. You have given me inspiration!

It looks like you had very consistent wall thickness at least from the pictures. Looking forward to getting my own chain saw disks, I found that my local Harbor fright has them. Just have to get the grinder back from my son…
