I made this shoe rack and an identical one for my wife and I after realizing that we needed somewhere to put our shoes besides the floor. The frames are solid walnut with oak beadboard shelves I used the oak beadboard since I got 4 full sheets as part of a bunch of lumber I bought at an auction a few months ago. I used my Kreg jig to assemble the frames. The finish is just satin poly.
The racks are 4 feet wide by 30 inches tall and 15 inches deep.

Women = shoes, lots of shoes, and this very well made shoe rack is an inspiration for me to get busy. I so want to see the floor again in her walk in closet.

Matt,
Just got a request from my sister for a shoe rack…this design is quite nice. How did you secure the beadboard ? Is the frame 1×2 ?

Nighttripper, The beadboard is not actually secured to the frame. Instead I used small strips of wood along the inside of the frame to give the beadboard a ledge to rest on. The frame is made from 3/4 walnut that was ripped to 1.5 inches. If you need a picture of what the beadboard sits on let me know.
Have your say...
