After a very busy last week and weekend (we renewed our wedding vows and a 60th Birthday party for my wife here at home) I was able to get into the shop this week. I make 2 large boxes( plus finished up 14 small bandsaw boxes…still drying from the last coat of poly). Here are the two larger boxes and the tall 3 drawer is one of the small boxes. The large one’s are approx. 13” long X 5” tall X 4” thick…the small one is 5” tall X 2” wide X 2” deep. These three are made from Koa and have about 5 coats of MinWax Fast Drying Poly on them. As you can see, Koa does come in many different designs…which is something I really like. Hope you like them

I like these. Nice selection of woods. Is the first one your own design? I find it very interesting, and I don’t remember seeing one like it.

Those are all very nice. The first one with the long low drawer really caught my attention. That had to be rather tricky to cut. Well Done!

Nice project! I love bandsaw boxes. However I currently don’t own a stout enough bandsaw to make one of any descent size I plan on purchasing one in the future just so I can finally make one of these! ... and resaw lumber more easily, lol.

Thanks to everyone that commented on these boxes. Yes the first picture is my design. It was a bit hard to cut the bottom drawer, but not as hard as I thought it would be. A good sharp blade helps. I am using 3/16” blades, but I think I will order a couple 1/8” blades for cuts like that one.
The turtle box is one that sells the best. That is my design. I have two different designs of turtle. Also have a Whale and Dolphin that sell well. I think I have cut nearly all the designs that are offered in the books for sale, so I am now doing some designing myself…not something I do well. Just have to be careful of tight turns.

All of these are very well done but the turtle remains my favorite. That koa is some beautiful wood.
