A friend of mine is becoming Worshipful Master of his lodge, this Maul Style gavel is his Fathers (who will be senior warden) . the head is turned from a nice piece of Ash with some pretty spalting and the handle is a chuck of natural shed elk antler. the finish is about 10 layers of lacquer. Picture 4 shows both gavels together
