Windmill I buitl for a friend after her little one got ruined in a wind storm. 8’ tall to the pivit point and 40” from blade tip to blade tip. the center of the blade hub is a hub out of a dollie tire i blew out and pivit point is a 10” lazy susan. the base is 36” x 36” the top is 11” x 11” Blades are 10” x 15” tails are 10” x 24” beam is 4” x 4” x 32” wood hub is 10” with a 4” wheel hub mounted in it. Balanced blades by running screws in there tips tell it would not rotate on its own to heavy point in no wind.

Looks great! Thanks for the details. I especially like your repurposing of some items. Looks like you used cedar??
I really want to do some experimenting with wind generation and this may be a starting point. Or, it may only be a project to satisfy my wife’s desire for the aesthetics of it at our home in the country.

Where the windmill propeller is, put a small generator so the propeller powers the generator and you should get enough to charge a battery.
