I was commissioned to make a MSgt shadowbox. I used hickory with Formby’s danish oil and several coats of wax. The size is about 34in. tall by 25 in. wide.
Second pic. shows a side view.
Third pic. is the joint for the face frame. I attach the pieces using a long spline that runs the full length from top to bottom. Sorry. I didn’t get a picture of that.
Last pic. is the clip I use to attach the face to the case. I make them out of 1/2 in. aluminum angle.
His wife loved it, hopefully he will also.

Nice job. I have never used Hickory…..llooks like oak a little….I will keep that in mind for future projects.

Beautifully done. Those face frame joints had to be a real challenge. I’m sure the MSgt will love it.
