This is a chest of drawers made of 100 years old oak beams.
The idea is for the chest to look like oak beams are assorted on one place .
6 drawers + 1 with soft touch close .
dimensions – 180×56 x 56 cm without legs
The chest of drawers ,chair, little table ,mirror frame are all made for an exibition in july in Croatia, Zagreb .
The idea is homage to Posavskim Old houses that were built in our country.
Me and my buddy Luka from Rijeka will display together .He will also have tables and chest of drawers .
Working with this old wood was a challenge but reward is the beauty of colours that is hiding under the crust of weather treated wood.
enjoy

Very imagative, like all of your projects. Love the little side drawers. They were a surprise. Could make one of these with a heavier top for a workbench with storage.

That’s one of the best projects I’ve seen for a while.
The white drawer sides seems a bit out of place to me – or is that the contrast of the rustic and the new?
Don’t take that as criticism – I really like what you’ve done.

glad u like it hope it goes well on exhibition .
it steel is odd to me do. the idea in my head and on paper was cool but now that is finished its kind of odd but i guess it will grow on me.
i didnt do well on “rings” (is this a word for lines on wood) on front of drawers .
they dont realy follow on left and right side of attacments.
renners yeap i like the contrast of modern and rustic

Hi Hrvoje,
That’s a great chest of drawers. I aslo work with old oak and I live in Zagreb. The only thing we don’t have in common is that I am Australian. Too bad I will be away in July, I would have loved to come to your exhibition.
Maybe we could meet up some other time after summer.
Check out my projects to see what I do.
I think I may have seen your blog at some point.

It’s unusual and will be certainly a fine conversation piece.
